Vincennes Man Arrested, Charged With Arson and Murder
VINCENNES, Ind. (We Are Knox County) - A Vincennes man has been arrested in connection with a house fire that killed a woman earlier this week.
Thirty-seven-year-old Shane Michael Carie was arrested Thursday and charged with murder and arson.
The Vincennes Police Department confirmed with We Are Knox County Friday morning that Carie’s arrest was connected to the Monday night fire.
Officials have not released any additional information about the case.
The fire happened at a home on North 11th Street around 10 p.m. Monday.
Officials tell WAKC News Now that one person, later identified as 19-year-old Aileese Tucker, was taken to the hospital before being transferred to Indianapolis.
Tucker died Tuesday from injuries sustained in the fire.
Carie remains in the Knox County Jail, where he is being held without bond.
