VINCENNES, Ind. (We Are Knox County) - A tribute honoring the men and women who have served the United States is now on display along the Vincennes Riverwalk.
Members of Lincoln High School’s JROTC, the Veterans Recovery Program, and City of Vincennes employees assembled the Voices of Valor HD Tribute Wall Thursday morning.
The exhibit features 85 A-frames showcasing the Vietnam War, the Global War on Terror Tribute, and the Cost of Freedom Tribute.
Each display includes historical information about each war, along with the names of service members who lost their lives during those conflicts.
The display is part of the larger American Freedom Tribute, a traveling memorial that honors U.S. service members through historic war exhibits and remembrance walls.
Vincennes Mayor Joe Yochum told WAKC News Now the display gives the community a chance to recognize and honor those who served and sacrificed for the country while celebrating the Fourth of July.
An opening ceremony will take place Friday at 10:00 a.m.
The tribute will be open to the public through 6:00 a.m. Sunday.
