Cooling Centers Available Across Vincennes as Heat Index Climbs

VINCENNES, Ind. (We Are Knox County) - As dangerously high heat indexes continue across the area, several organizations in Vincennes are providing cooling centers where residents can escape the heat.
According to the United Way of Knox County, the following cooling centers are available during each location's normal operating hours and include:

The National Weather Service has placed Knox County under an Extreme Heat Warning until Friday at 8:00pm.
Extreme heat can pose serious health risks, particularly for older adults, young children, people with chronic medical conditions, and those without access to reliable air conditioning.
Experts recommend people stay hydrated, limit time outdoors during the hottest part of the day, and check on neighbors, friends, and family members who may be more vulnerable to heat-related illnesses.
