America's 250: Fourth of July Events in Vincennes

VINCENNES, Ind. (We Are Knox County) -  From historic tributes to fireworks, Vincennes is set for a festive Fourth of July weekend filled with community events celebrating America’s 250th birthday.

The Fourth of July fun kicks off on Friday morning with the opening ceremony for the Voices of Valor HD Tribute Wall.

The exhibit is a traveling memorial honoring U.S. service members through historic war exhibits and remembrance panels.

It is currently on display along the Vincennes Riverwalk in downtown Vincennes.

The ceremony begins at 10:00 a.m. at Patrick Henry Square.

Friday evening, events move to the riverfront from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. with a showing of Hamilton at the Riverfront Pavilion.

At Patrick Henry Square, activities will include a beer garden hosted by Willie’s Pub, along with live music from Put & Mary Brewer and The Fun Dunns.

On Saturday, the George Rogers Clark National Historical Park will host a special “show and tell” program from 4 to 5 p.m. at the park’s Visitor Center, where a time capsule buried in 1976 will be opened.

The annual Fourth of July parade starts at 6 p.m.

Following the parade, live music will continue at Patrick Henry Square featuring Buck Rogers Clark, performing until the start of the fireworks show.

The weekend will conclude with a fireworks display at dusk at George Rogers Clark National Historical Park.

Food trucks and various vendors will be set up at Patrick Henry Square on both Friday and Saturday.
