VINCENNES, Ind. (We Are Knox County) - A house fire in Vincennes earlier this week remains under investigation.
The fire happened at a home in the 1100 block of Broadway Street around 7:45 Wednesday evening.
Vincennes City Fire Chief Brett Bobe told WAKC News Now that the Indiana State Fire Marshal was at the home on Thursday investigating the fire.
It took firefighters around four hours to bring the fire under control.
According to Bobe, the home was vacant and filled with a large amount of stored items, which made getting inside to extinguish the fire difficult.
Firefighters had to use two ladder trucks to put out the fire due to the distance from the side road and the limited access from the alley.
Bobe says a downed power line behind the house also created a challenge for firefighters.
No injuries were reported.
A cause of the fire has not yet been released.
