The Vincennes Police Department is now accepting applications until further notice! We are hiring for two positions of Police Officer.


As an Officer with the City of Vincennes, you will receive clothing allowance, holiday pay, longevity pay, associate and bachelor degree incentives, and shift differential pay of $1.00 per hour for evening shift and midnight shift.


Officers are under the Indiana PERF pension plan and also receive health and dental insurance. Officers are also protected by a Merit Board.

For your probationary year, the salary is $44,138.00. After completing your probationary year, the salary for the 2nd Class Patrolman is $44,460. After two years, you will be promoted to a 1st Class Patrolman with a salary of $45,845.

The Vincennes Police Department has received a raise each year for the past several years.


Applicants must be 21 years of age at the date of hiring and not older than 35. Applicants must also be a citizen of the United States and have held a valid drivers license for the past three years.
