WIN Energy REMC Awards Operation Round Up Grants

KNOX COUNTY, Ind. (We Are Knox County) - WIN Energy REMC recently announced the recipients of its Operation Round Up grants, with two organizations in Knox County receiving funding.
The Knox County Soil and Water Conservation District received $10,000 to purchase rafts, paddles, and life jackets for the Wabash River Expedition.
Steen Township Fire Department was also awarded $5,000 to help purchase portable radios for firefighters, which will be used during emergency responses.

In total, $34,148.78 was distributed to eight organizations across Gibson, Knox, and Sullivan counties as part of this latest round of grants.
The Operation Round Up program allows WIN Energy REMC members to voluntarily round up their monthly electric bills to the nearest dollar, with the extra funds supporting community projects and organizations.
Since the program began in May 2013, 265 grants totaling more than $827,000 have been awarded.
