Vincennes Police Department Investigating Alleged Scam Involving Fake Football Fundraiser

VINCENNES, Ind. ( We Are Knox County) - The Vincennes Police Department is investigating a reported scam involving local businesses.

According to the VPD, the scam involved juvenile children dressed in football gear who were allegedly escorted by one or two adults.

Investigators say the group went to businesses claiming to be collecting donations for a football fundraiser.

Police say the incidents occurred on Friday, April 17.

The Vincennes Police Department confirmed to WAKC News Now that the individuals involved have been identified, but no additional information is being released at this time due to the ongoing investigation.
