VINCENNES, Ind. (We Are Knox County) - A pickleball court in Knox County is closed until further notice.
The court at Four Lakes Park in Vincennes was shut down Thursday after repeated vandalism.
Vincennes Parks and Recreation Superintendent J.R. Fields told WAKC News Now the damage happened over the past few nights.
He said one net was stolen, another destroyed, and the court mats were ripped up.
This isn’t the first case of vandalism at a Vincennes park. Fields said someone recently removed a basketball net at Lester Square and set it on fire.
Fields said while he understands accidents happen, what happened at the pickleball court goes beyond that.
“Those who vandalize are going to get caught, and we will prosecute,” Fields said.
Anyone with information about the vandalism at Four Lakes Park can call the Vincennes Mayor’s Office at 812-882-7285 or the Vincennes Police Department at 812-882-1630.
