VINCENNES, Ind. (We Are Knox County) - A local insurance agent is acting as a designated driver during Lincoln High School's homecoming celebrations on Friday night.
Andrew Hinz, a State Farm Insurance agent in Vincennes, is offering rides to adults who may have had too much to drink during the festivities.
It's a service that Hinz has been providing to the community since 2018.
Hinz told WAKC News Now that he wants to help people stay safe while still having a good time.
“I wanted to contribute positively and saw this as an opportunity to help reduce the number of people driving under the influence during the festivities."
Hinz says the support he has received over the years has been overwhelmingly positive.
“All riders have been extremely appreciative."
Rides will be available Friday from 9 p.m. to midnight.
People can arrange a ride by calling or texting 270-293-4836.
There is no cost for the service.
