VINCENNES, Ind. (We Are Knox County) - The Vincennes Animal Shelter is taking part in a statewide adoption event this weekend to celebrate Indiana Loves Shelter Pets.
The event is part of a proclamation issued by Governor Braun to highlight the importance of pet adoption in building no-kill communities.
On Saturday, all adoptions will be $25. The goal is to help more pets find homes and reduce shelter overcrowding.
The event is supported by the Best Friends Animal Society, a national organization that works with shelters to increase adoptions and save animal lives.
The Vincennes Animal Shelter, which is a no-kill facility, says this effort helps move Indiana closer to becoming a no-kill state.
The shelter is located at 1128 South River Road and will be open Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
