VINCENNES, Ind. (We Are Knox County) - The Vincennes Animal Shelter is asking for the community’s help.
The shelter says it needs assistance with food, as it is currently at full capacity with dogs.
According to staff, the shelter uses a 40-pound bag of dog food each day.
Many of the dogs in its care have sensitive stomachs, and staff are hoping to transition them to high-protein formulas.
Preferred brands include Purina One, Blue Buffalo, Diamond Naturals, and Iams.
Kitten food is also in high demand, as the number of cats continues to climb.
Donations of dog and kitten food can be dropped off at the shelter, located at 1128 S. River Road in Vincennes.
The facility is open Monday through Saturday from 9am to 4pm.
