Temporary Closure Planned for Section of Main Street in Vincennes

VINCENNES, Ind. (We Are Knox County) - A block of Main Street in Vincennes will temporarily close for roadwork starting Friday.

According to the Vincennes Mayor’s Office, the closure will affect the section of Main Street between 6th and 7th Streets.

Contractors will be removing old trolley ties and repaving the road, with work expected to take approximately one week.

The work is part of an ongoing city project to improve Main Street between 1st Street and 7th Street.

The project is funded through the Indiana Department of Transportation’s Community Crossings Matching Grant program.
