Repairs Made to Rough Vincennes Railroad Crossing

VINCENNES, Ind. (We Are Knox County) - A rough railroad crossing in Vincennes is now a bit smoother.

The crossing on 6th Street near Depot Street was recently patched.

Drivers had been frustrated with the crossing’s condition for months, with some even contacting WAKC News Now.

In June, WAKC News Now contacted CSX about the issue.

A spokesperson said their engineering team would review the crossing and determine what could be done.

Repairs to the crossing were completed in mid-August.

We followed up with CSX to ask whether the fix was temporary or permanent.

“We’ll continue to monitor and evaluate the crossing, but as of now there is no additional work scheduled in the near term,” the spokesperson told WAKC News Now.
