VINCENNES, Ind. (We Are Knox County) - The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) is hosting a public information meeting to discuss upcoming changes to State Road 441, also known as Willow Street.
INDOT Public Relations Director Gary Brian informed WAKC News Now that the state plans to transform State Road 441 (Willow Street) from Niblack Road to 6th Street into a two-lane road with a center turn lane.
This process is called a "road diet."
The meeting will be held on Thursday, July 25, at Vincennes City Hall from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
There will be a 10-minute presentation followed by a question-and-answer session.
This isn't the first "road diet" in Vincennes.
Earlier this summer, the City of Vincennes changed Hart Street from Veterans Drive to 15th Street to a two-lane road with a center turn lane to improve traffic flow and safety.
