Pipeline Repairs Cause Visible Fireball in Southern Knox County

DECKER, Ind. (We Are Knox County) - A large fireball visible in southern Knox County is part of planned work on a natural gas pipeline, according to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office says it has received several calls about the flame near State Road 241 and Osborne Road northeast of Decker.

Broadway Pipeline crews are working in the area and told authorities the fireball is a normal part of the repairs being performed on the pipeline.

Officials say there is no danger to the public.

The flame may remain visible while the repair work continues.
