Pedestrian Injured After Being Struck on Old Decker Road

VINCENNES, Ind. (We Are Knox County) - The Knox County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian.
It happened around 7:00 Friday morning on Old Decker Road near Elkhorn Road, south of Vincennes.
The Knox County Sheriff’s Office tells WAKC News Now a pedestrian walking along Old Decker Road was struck by a vehicle.
Deputies say the victim described the vehicle as an older model gray Toyota 4Runner.
A side mirror matching the vehicle’s description was found at the scene.
The victim was taken to the hospital with a facial injury.
There are no sidewalks in that area.
Chief Deputy John Fuller is reminding pedestrians to take extra precautions when walking along roads without sidewalks.
“If you must walk on the road, walk on the left side facing oncoming vehicles so you can see approaching traffic and move out of the way if necessary.”
