One Dead After Crash Involving Golf Cart in Bicknell

BICKNELL, Ind. (We Are Knox County) - One person is dead following a crash between a pickup truck and a golf cart Monday morning in Bicknell.

Deputies said they were called to the intersection of Main and Third Street, where they found a golf cart in the road and a woman lying nearby.

According to the sheriff’s office, she was conscious at the scene but told deputies she was experiencing abdominal pain.

The woman was identified as 57-year-old Annisa Everett.

Authorities say Everrett was taken to the hospital, where her condition worsened.

Everett later became unresponsive and died.

An autopsy was performed on Tuesday.

The sheriff’s office says the cause of death was determined to be internal injuries from the crash and the death was ruled accidental.

According to deputies, the driver of the pickup truck, a 17-year-old juvenile, told investigators he arrived at the intersection first.

Both vehicles entered the intersection at the same time, and the truck hit the golf cart.

The sheriff’s office is reminding the public that golf carts lack seatbelts and other safety features and are not meant to be driven on the road.
