New Spirit Pump in Vincennes Helps Support Local High School Students

VINCENNES, Ind. (We Are Knox County) - Filling up your gas tank can now help support students at one Knox County high school.

Vincennes Lincoln High School has partnered with Sunoco Vincennes to launch a new year-round fundraising program known as the LHS Spirit Pump.

Every time someone buys gas at pump 7, a portion of the purchase will go to Lincoln High School.

To celebrate Lincoln's Homecoming, Sunoco will donate 5 cents for every gallon of gas purchased at pump 7 through Sunday, September 27.

Throughout the year, Sunoco will donate 3 cents per gallon purchased from the Spirit Pump.

According to the Vincennes Community School Corporation, money raised through the program will support general student activities, extracurricular opportunities and other student experiences at the high school.

Photography and video production teacher Rick Lang came up with the idea for the fundraiser and helped get the program started.

“We are thrilled to launch an initiative that turns an everyday errand of getting gas for your vehicle into meaningful support for our local high school,” Lang said.

Sunoco Vincennes is located at 606 Shirlee Street, just off Hart Street Road.
