VINCENNES, Ind. (We Are Knox County) - Work on Main Street in Vincennes is wrapping up.
On Tuesday, contractors finished pavement markings and loop detector installations on Main Street, 2nd Street, and Patrick Henry Drive.
One major change: Main Street now has a single travel lane, rather than two.
Parking remains on both sides of the street.
City Engineer John Sprague confirmed the change to WAKC News Now on Tuesday.
The project began earlier this spring and included curb replacements and new sidewalk ramps ahead of repaving from 7th Street to 1st Street.
Funding for the project came from the Indiana Department of Transportation’s Community Crossings Matching Grant Program.
