Main Street Paving Will Restrict Parking—but Not Access to Local Shops


VINCENNES, Ind. (We Are Knox County) - The Main Street renovation project in Vincennes is nearing completion.


The Mayor’s Office has announced that beginning Tuesday, May 27, contractors with E&B Paving will start milling and paving Main Street from 1st Street to 7th Street.


This phase of the project is expected to wrap up by Friday, May 30, weather permitting.


Parking along Main Street will be prohibited daily from 7:00am to 7:00pm.


According to the sign, those who violate the order, will have their vehicles towed at the owner's expense.


Several Main Street business owners—including Pea-Fections, Jenna’s Bakehouse, Magnolias on Main, and many others—are joining forces to let shoppers know their stores will remain open and accessible during construction, even though parking on Main Street will be temporarily prohibited.




isitors are encouraged to continue supporting these local shops and restaurants by using nearby public parking lots located at 6th and Main, 4th and Vigo, and 2nd and Busseron Street.
