VINCENNES, Ind. (We Are Knox County) - A southern Indiana high school teacher’s contract was terminated on Tuesday night.
Board members of the South Knox School Corporation voted unanimously to end Machelle Pool’s employment contract.
Earlier this month, the board held an executive session to discuss Pool's employment, following a recommendation from Superintendent Jeff Cochren.
As part of the termination process, Cochren presented a Findings of Fact document, which the board subsequently adopted.
WAKC News Now has filed a Public Records Request with the school corporation to obtain a copy of the document.
Several individuals have told WAKC News Now that they believe Pool's contract was terminated due to the number of days she has missed while battling cancer.
During a previous attempt to confirm the reason for discussing Pool's employment, Cochren told WAKC News Now he could not comment on personnel matters.
