The Knox County Sheriff's Department received 5 new AEDs thanks to a donation.
A total of 9 tri-state area first responders received 39 AEDs from HeartSaver druing a ceremony Wednesday at Deaconess Gateway in Evansville.
According to Deaconess, the HeartSaver AED's have saved 9 lives since it's inception in 2014.
The HeartSaver committee has raised enough money to place 423 AEDs in schools, community centers, first responder vehicles and other large gathering places around the region.
The new AEDs will be placed with Knox County sheriff deputies.
