John Fuller Announces Run for Knox County Sheriff in 2026

KNOX COUNTY, Ind. (We Are Knox County) - Chief Deputy John Fuller has announced his intention to run for Knox County Sheriff.
On Wednesday, Fuller said he will seek the Republican nomination in the 2026 primary.
Current Sheriff Doug Vantlin is set to retire at the end of 2026 due to term limits.
Fuller began his career with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office in 2003 as a reserve deputy.
Fuller later served as a jail officer, road deputy, Captain, and Major before being appointed Chief Deputy in 2021.
As of now, Fuller is the only candidate to publicly announce their intention to run for Knox County Sheriff.
The official candidate filing window for the 2026 election runs from Wedensday, January 7, 2026, through Friday, February 6, 2026, at noon.
