Fire Causes Smoke Damage at Vincennes Restaurant

VINCENNES, Ind. (We Are Knox County) - A popular buffet in Vincennes is cleaning up following a fire.
Vincennes City Fire Chief Brett Bobe confirmed to WAKC News Now that the fire occurred Thursday at Ponderosa on Hart Street.
According to Bobe, the restaurant suffered some smoke damage, though the fire was contained to the hood system in the kitchen.
The incident is estimated to have caused around $50,000 in damage.
An employee at Ponderosa told WAKC News Now the restaurant is temporarily closed.
In a Facebook post, the restaurant said it plans to reopen on Saturday, August 16.
The fire remains under investigation by the State Fire Marshal.
No injuries were reported.
