VINCENNES, Ind. (We Are Knox County) - A new company is getting started in Vincennes with a goal of helping farmers navigate complicated reporting requirements and improve access to capital.

Fallow AG officially began operations at The Pantheon business and innovation center this week.

According to a press release, the company is developing data-driven tools to help farmers create a clearer picture of their operations by bringing together information from documents they already use, including acreage certifications, farm and tract maps and crop insurance elections.

Fallow AG CEO Naveed Iqbal says current reporting requirements can be difficult for farmers with complex operations, particularly when information must be reported across federal farm programs, crop insurance and financial records.

“The farmer is essentially asked to produce a document that has almost nothing to do with how the operation actually runs,” Iqbal said.

Fallow AG says its system is designed to create a single, more accurate record of a farming operation.

The company hopes that will help farmers identify programs they may qualify for, improve their filings and give lenders a clearer understanding of their operations when they apply for financing.

The company is already working with three farms across Indiana, including row-crop and specialty operations.

Iqbal moved to Vincennes about a year ago after working in banking technology and fintech.

He says he began meeting with local farmers, lenders and agricultural professionals to better understand the challenges facing agricultural operations.

The company will operate out of The Pantheon in downtown Vincennes as it continues developing and testing its platform with Indiana farmers.
