EF-2 Tornado Causes Damage in Southern Knox County



The National Weather Service has confirmed an EF- 2 tornado is the cause of damage to several southern Knox County homes.


The tornado touched down around 10:30 eastern time Thursday night near Keensburg in Wabash County, Illinois.


The tornado traveled northeast, crossing the White River into far southwestern Knox County. The tornado then traveled through Decker, uprooting trees, snapping utility poles and destroying homes.


During the half hour event, the tornado traveled 26 miles through 3 counties and winds reached 115mph before dissipating northeast of Decker.


Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
