City of Vincennes Reminding Drivers to Keep Snow Routes Clear


VINCENNES, Ind. (We Are Knox County) - The City of Vincennes is reminding drivers not to park on designated snow routes this weekend.


Drivers who live along snow routes are asked to avoid parking on the street both Saturday and Sunday.


According to the City of Vincennes, any vehicle parked on a snow route will be towed at the owner’s expense.


Designated snow routes in Vincennes include:


  • Bayou Street (Seventeenth Street to Tenth Street)

  • Bierhaus Boulevard (Hart Street to State Road 61)

  • Bruceville Road (Wheatland Road to Hillcrest Ext. Road)

  • College Avenue (Second Street to YMCA)

  • Fifteenth Street (Willow Street to Hart Street)

  • Forbes Road (Wabash Avenue to McDowell Road)

  • Hart Street (Second Street to Richard Bauer Drive)

  • Kimmell Road (Hart Street to State Road 61)

  • Main Street (Sixth Street to Richard Bauer Drive)

  • McDowell Road (Washington Avenue to Forbes Road)

  • Niblack Boulevard (Second Street to Washington Avenue)

  • Niblack Road (Willow Street to City Limits)

  • Nineteenth Street (Main Street to Hart Street)

  • Red Skelton Boulevard (Second Street to Oliphant Drive)

  • Richard Bauer Drive (Main Street to Hart Street)

  • Second Street (Willow Street to Niblack Boulevard)

  • Seventeenth Street (Willow Street to Bayou Street)

  • Seventh Street (Willow Street to Washington Avenue)

  • Sixth Street (Vigo Street to Wheatland Road)

  • St. Clair Street (Second Street to City Limits)

  • Tenth Street (Willow Street to Hart Street)

  • Thirteenth Street (Willow Street to Ritterskamp Avenue)

  • Vigo Street (Sixth Street to Tenth Street)

  • Washington Avenue (College Avenue to U.S. 50 overpass)

  • Wheatland Road (Sixth Street to City Limits)

  • Willow Street (Second Street to Sixth Street)


The City of Vincennes says during the snowstorm, the Street Department will focus first on designated snow routes, along with hills, overpasses, and bridges.


Crews will begin treating and clearing secondary roads once snow routes are passable for traffic.
