City of Vincennes Planning Upgrades to Richard Bauer Drive

ree

VINCENNES, Ind. (We Are Knox County) - Vincennes City Engineer John Sprague outlined plans to fully reconstruct Richard Bauer Drive during a recent Vincennes Redevelopment Commission meeting.

The $2.3 million project would involve doing a full reconstruction of the road.

Sprague told RDC members that the road currently shows traverse cracking, which refers to cracks that run across the pavement and suggest there are issues with the subgrade, the foundational layer under the road.

Sprague also discussed adding a multi-use path along the school side of Richard Bauer Drive, designed to accommodate both pedestrians and cyclists.

Sprague said the city plans to pursue funding through the Indiana Department of Transportation’s Community Crossings Matching Grant Program.

While no official timeline has been set, Sprague told WAKC News Now that spring 2027 is a likely target for construction to begin.
