VINCENNES, Ind. (We Are Knox County) - The City of Vincennes’ family is getting bigger!
Officials announced Wednesday that Vincennes has formed a new sister-city partnership with Ovruch, Ukraine.
Vincennes Mayor Joe Yochum and Ovruch Mayor Ivan Korud formally signed the agreement during a virtual ceremony Wednesday morning.
“The Sister City relationship will provide opportunities for cultural, educational, and civic exchange, as well as collaboration between residents, schools, and organizations in both communities,” the Vincennes Mayor’s Office said in a statement.
City leaders say the goal of the partnership is to create lasting bonds through resident and cultural exchanges, community projects, and learning opportunities that promote mutual understanding and friendship.
This is the third sister-city partnership for Vincennes, joining existing relationships with Vincennes, France, and Wasserburg am Inn, Germany.
Earlier this month, Vincennes reaffirmed its 90-year partnership with Vincennes, France during a ceremony at City Hall.
