VINCENNES, Ind. (We Are Knox County) - Work is officially underway on Bierhaus Flats, a new 240-unit apartment complex in Vincennes.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held Monday morning to mark the start of the project.
The apartments are being designed by Simplified Developments and will include one-, two-, and three-bedroom options.

Construction is being carried out by Elite Construction Services, a sister company to Simplified Developments.
The two firms have previously partnered to design and build several housing developments in other southern Indiana communities.
“There will be five buildings with a clubhouse that has a fitness center and a community space that includes a fire pit,” said Simplified Developments President Phil Reinbrecht.
Reinbrecht said the apartments will be open to anyone.
“We’ve got a range of people living in our other properties—everyone from young single adults to retired married couples.”
The units will be leased at market value, although rent prices are still being finalized.
“It will be as affordable as we can make it,” Reinbrecht added.
Pre-leasing is expected to begin this fall, with the first tenants moving in shortly after the start of the new year.
The full development is expected to be completed by fall 2026.
The apartments will be located on Bierhaus Boulevard in Vincennes, near Kohl’s.
