Benches and Trash Cans Installed Along Trolley Route in Vincennes

VINCENNES, Ind. (We Are Knox County) - Riders waiting for the Vincennes Trolley now have a place to sit instead of standing at the curb.

Benches and trash cans are being installed at stops across the city.

Mayor Joe Yochum told WAKC News Now that about 12 of the 30 custom-made benches have already been put in place.

The benches and trashcans can be found at several locations around town including City Hall, Vincennes University, Walmart, and the Knox County Public Library.

Money for the benches and trash cans came from the Indiana Office of Community & Rural Affairs (OCRA) through a Hoosiers Enduring Legacy Program (HELP) grant.

Mayor Yochum said city leaders are also considering adding canopies at some stops.

The Vincennes Trolley began running in December 2024 and continues to operate free of charge.

A full map of the route and stop locations is available on the Vincennes Trolley's website.
