Traffic Stop in Vincennes Nets Marijuana, Morphine Pills and over $3,600 Cash



A traffic stop around 3:20 Tuesday morning sends a Vincennes main to Jail.

Indiana State Police Trooper Jordan Lee pulled over a 2002 Ford Ranger near Hart and 12th Street for having a defective license plate light. 

Trooper Lee detected an odor of marijuana when approaching the vehicle. 

A search of the vehicle revealed approximately 435 grams of marijuana, 10 morphine pills and over $3,600.00 in cash. 


The driver of the vehicle, 29 year old Demencio Canchola was arrested and charged with dealing marijuana, a class a misdemeanor; maintaining a common nuisance, a level 6 felony; possession of a scheduled ii controlled substance, a level 6 felony and possession of marijuana, a class b misdemeanor. 

Canchola was booked into the Knox County Jail where he is currently being held on bond.
