June is LGBTQ+ pride month.
The Vincennes based non-profit group, Wabash Valley Progressives, has organized Knox County's first annual pride event, Rainbow over the Bridge: Pride on the Wabash.
The event takes place Saturday, June 23 from 5:00pm to midnight on the River Walk in downtown Vincennes. There will be live music by the band American Pie Unplugged, food and several local vendors such as Bartholomew Wedding Photography, the Knox County Public Library, the Knox County Civitan Club and various other pride organizations from around Indiana.
One of the event organizers told WAKC News that the goal for this year's pride event is to acknowledge the LGBTQ+ community and celebrate pride.
