Your First Warning: Tracking A Winter Storm

WAKC News Now and First Warning Neighborhood Weather has been working hard, tracking the winter storm that is moving into our area.


ALERTS: Knox County is under a WINTER STORM WARNING from 7:00pm on Wednesday, 02/02/22 until 1:00am Friday 02/04/22.


TIMING: Temperatures will drop as we continue through the day on Wednesday. Rain will transition to sleet between 5:00pm and 7:00pm and last into late Wednesday night to early Thursday morning. Sleet and freezing rain looks to move back in between 4:00am and 5:00am Thursday morning before transitioning transitioning to snow around 9:00am. The snow looks to move out late Thursday evening.


TOTAL ACCUMULATIONS: Right now, Knox County is expected to see 0.2 INCHES OF ICE and 3-5 INCHES OF SNOW by the time this storm moves out.



Now is the time to prepare. Make sure all devices are charged and you have coats, hats and gloves in your vehicle. We will continue to track the winter storm as it moves in and update you on the forecast, delays and closings, road conditions, power outages and more.
