Wanda Rose (Privett) Evans


Wanda Rose (Privett) Evans, 86, formerly of Bicknell, IN, passed away March 10, 2022 in Houston, TX. Wanda was born December 18, 1935 in Bicknell the daughter of William and Ruby Vale Privett. She was a graduate of Bicknell High School where she was a cheerleader for the Bulldogs. She married James Evans and he preceded her in death in May of 2006. She was a representative for Avon products for many years and was active in the Bicknell Nazarene Church. She loved I.U. Basketball, working puzzles and any sporting event. Her weaknesses were Chocolate and Coke.


She is survived by her sons, Bradley “Brad” Evans, and his wife Michele of Houston, TX and Brent Evans, and his companion, Debra of Louisville, KY. She is also survived by a brother Harold “Monk” Privett, and his wife Alicia of Greenwood, IN, sister, Naomi Jamison, and her husband Joe of Bicknell, IN. A special sister in law, Barbara Privett of Bicknell also survives.


She was preceded in death by her husband, James Evans, her parents, 2 brothers, William Privett Jr and Donald “Dutch” Privett, a sister Doris Korb. her brother in laws, David Korb and Claude “Buddy” Thompson and a sister in law, Lois Privett.


Funeral Services will be celebrated March 25, 2022 at 12:00 PM at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw Chapel with Pastor Riley Weaver officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Edwardsport IOOF Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of service. Memorial contributions can be made to the donors charity of choice. Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw Chapel is honored to assist the Evans family during their time of loss.
