Ruth I. (Donovan) Witsman, 76, of Vincennes, Indiana, went to her heavenly home on May 5, 2022, at her residence in Vincennes.
She was born on October 20, 1945, to the late Earl Francis Donovan and Margaret (Goerig) Donovan Williams in Vincennes, Indiana.
Ruth was a 1963 graduate of Lincoln High School. On May 10, 1964, Ruth married the love of her life, Edward J. Witsman and they spent nearly fifty – eight years together happily married. Together they had one daughter, Kristen Michelle (Witsman) Cook, and she preceded them.
Ruth was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Vincennes, Indiana. She loved getting together with her friends from small group at church and going to bible study. Ruth loved to read and travel, and she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Surviving Ruth is her husband, Ed Witsman, her sisters, Marjorie Beamon, Nancy Allen, and Freida Christmas, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Margaret, her daughter, Kristen, and her brothers, Bob Donovan, Ron Williams, and Irvin Williams.
Visitation for Ruth will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Goodwin Sievers Funeral Home 524 Broadway St., Vincennes, Indiana 47591 from 9:00 – 12:00pm. A memorial service will begin immediately at 12:00pm with Rev. Dennis Frische – Mouri officiating. Inurnment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Vincennes, Indiana.
