Maurice N. Reitmeyer, 87, passed away on Monday November 15, 2021 at Oak Village Nursing Home in Oaktown, Indiana. Maurice was born on July 16, 1934 in Decker, Indiana to Albert and Emma Reitmeyer.
Maurice was a graduate of Decker High School. After high school, he served his country in the Army. On October 11, 1958 he married the love of his life Eileen LaVaughn (Carrie) Reitmeyer and they shared fifty-five years together. Together they had one daughter, Tina Meeks. He was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church in Vincennes.
In his spare time, Maurice enjoyed attending church. He also enjoyed watching sports, especially IU and the St. Louis Cardinals. Most importantly, Maurice loved to spend time with his family.
Surviving Maurice is his daughter Tina Meeks (Stacy) of Vincennes, Indiana; grandson Nickolas Meeks (Catlin) of Vincennes, Indiana; great grandson Watson Meeks, his sister Mary Lou Reitmeyer, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Emma, his wife, LaVaughn, brother, Ralph Reitmeyer, and his sister, Helen Yochum.
Visitation for Maurice will be held on Thursday November 18, 2021 at Memorial Park Cemetery 919 Willow St, Vincennes, Indiana 47591 from 9:30am – 10:30am. A graveside funeral service will follow beginning at 10:30 with Pastor Nathan Rastl officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorial contributions be made to the St. Peters Lutheran Church 6690 S Decker Rd. Vincennes, Indiana 47591.
