Linda Sue (Majewski) Boyd (03/23/1953 - 05/13/2022)

Linda Sue (Majewski) Boyd, age 69, passed from this life at her residence in Bruceville, Indiana on May 13, 2022.


“Lyn” was born on March 23, 1953, in Meriden, Connecticut to William (Boleslaw) Majewski and Beulah Elizabeth Stephens. She spent her early years in both Meriden and Bruceville, where she eventually came to reside with her late husband “Jim” and their three children. She married Jim on October 17, 1970, and they remained married until his passing in 2008. Together they attacked this life with love and adventure raising their children and grandchildren.


She was a member of the North Knox HS class of 1971 and went on to work for Hills Lucky Dollar, the Bruceville Rod and Gun Club, Jewell’s Flowers, and The Melon Patch. She was known by family and friends as a coordinator of all things, master cook, baker, and craftsmaker. She was an avid reader, had a passion for travel, and was always up for an adventure. Most importantly, she loved to entertain and spend time with family and friends. She spent her final years residing with her partner and companion Michael Gwaltney. Together they enjoyed working outdoors, watching sports, films, spending time with extended family and friends, and traveling.


Lyn is survived by her companion, Michael Gwaltney, her children, Andrea (Jeff) Tilly, Renee (Joe) Dilley, and Dustin (Missy) Boyd; her grandchildren, Alexandria and Wesley Boyd, Graham and Cameron Tilly, Emily, Blake, and Samuel Goodwin, Kaleb Dilley, Sydney and Christina Smith; a sister, Denise Carter; a nephew, Gordon Hill; nieces Brittney Lane and Cassandra Ice; a great niece, Jennifer Hill; and Micheal’s children Rachel and Paul Gwaltney.


She was preceded in death by her husband James Boyd and her parents William Majewski and Elizabeth Stephens.


The family has requested to have a private memorial service.


Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, from 4:30 pm until 8:00 pm at the Goodwin Sievers Gardner Brockman Chapel 505 Main Street Vincennes, Indiana. Officiating will be Deacon Earl Ruppel. Under the direction of Goodwin Sievers Funeral Home Vincennes, Indiana.
