JoAnn Dayton, 90, passed away at 6:15 pm on Friday, January 14, 2022, at Daviess Community Hospital. JoAnn was born on March 27, 1931, in Washington and she was the daughter of Joseph A. “Doc” and Jesse (Crecelius) GeLarden. JoAnn married Don Dayton on November 24, 1949.
JoAnn worked as the Director of Personnel at Daviess Community Hospital for many years and was a member of First Baptist Church. She also was a member of RSVP and volunteered as a Pink Lady at Daviess Community Hospital. JoAnn loved making and buying cards so she could send to her friends, family, and special people in her life.
Survivors include her husband Don Dayton of Washington; her children, Keith Dayton and his wife Donna of Ellettsville, IN, Karen Bissey and her companion of many years Bob Krueger of Washington, Steve Dayton and his wife Virginia of Washington; brother, Joe GeLarden of Evansville, IN; twelve grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren. JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph A. “Doc” and Jesse GeLarden.
The Dayton family will hold a private graveside service at Oak Grove Cemetery. Online memories may be shared with JoAnn’s family and friends at www.goodwinsievers.com.
