Halloween Fun in Knox County



We're about 2 weeks away from Halloween and we've created a list with some fun, ghostly events taking place in Knox County for the entire family to check out before "spooky season" ends!


FRIDAY, OCTOBER 29:

  • Downtown Halloween Bash: This event, sponsored by American Family Insurance-Carson Thacker, will take place on the 300 block on Main Street in Vincennes from 4:00pm until 7:00pm. There will be inflatables, balloon twisting, games, prizes and more! There will also be trick or treat stops at Café Moonlight, Pearl and Chrome, Jenna's Bakehouse, Thursday Church, Graze and several other downtown businesses.

  • Hart Street Safe Stop: Businesses on Hart Street will be handing out candy and other goodies to kids of all ages from 5:00pm until 7:00pm.

  • 6th Street Safe Stop: Big Lots, Buffalo Wild Wings, Gliks, Rent One along with several other 6th Street businesses will be participating in the 6th Street Safe Stop from 5:00pm until 7:00pm.


SATURDAY, OCTOBER 30:

  • Bicknell Halloween Parade: The 2nd Annual Halloween Parade, presented by Sons of Horror and Bicknell Halloween Haunted House, will start at 6:00pm. Kids will walk down Main Street with members of the Bicknell Haunted House and the Bicknell Fire Department while vendors will sit on the sidewalk and pass out candy. Kids and parents interested in joining the parade can meet at the Bicknell Water Tower, just off of Highway 67, a little before 6:00pm.

*The parade will take place on October 29 if rain is in the forecast for October 30.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 31:

  • Oaken Days Trunk or Treat: Kids are encouraged to wear their best costume and check out the Oaken Days Trunk or Treat from 5:30pm until 7:30pm outside the Community Building in downtown Oaktown. Social distancing and masks are encouraged.


TRICK OR TREAT TIMES:

Trick or treating will take place on Saturday, October 30th and Sunday, October 31st from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. Residents who do not want to participate in trick or treating are encouraged to keep their porch lights off.



HAUNTED HOUSES:

  • Abattoir Haunted Attraction (321 N. 2nd Street; Vincennes): The Abattoir is said to have over 30 rooms of terror! The haunted house is open 7:00pm until 12:00am on Friday, October 15; Saturday, October 16; Thursday, October 21 (VU Night - admission is $12.00 with VU ID); Friday October 22; Saturday, October 23; Thursday October 28; Friday, October 29; Saturday October 30 and Sunday October 31. General admission is $15.00.

  • Bicknell Halloween Haunted House (7338 N Alexander Road; Bicknell): This scary haunted house is located just off of Highway 67 in Bicknell. The haunted house is open from 7:00pm until 11:00pm on Saturday, October 16; Saturday October 23; Friday, October 29 and Saturday October 30. General admission is $5.00.
