Damage from an accident last weekend in Vincennes is expected to be repaired by the first of next week.
On Saturday, January 25, a semi struck a power pole, a fire hydrant and a traffic light pole at the intersection of 7th and Hart Street. Both the power pole and service point for the stoplight attached to the power pole was damaged beyond repair.
According to the mayor’s office, City Engineer John Sprague is working with Duke Energy and a traffic signal contractor and they hope to get the repairs made by the first of next week. In the meantime, motorists are urged to use caution and treat the intersection as a 4 way stop.
