VINCENNES, Ind. (We Are Knox County) - The heat and humidity didn't stop people from gathering at Clark's Landing in Vincennes on Sunday afternoon.
People from both near and far came to show their support for Tammie Reppond, the mother of Jared McColloch.
Sunday marks 252 days since McColloch was last seen.
McColloch's truck was found on Monday, November 6, on Wabash River Road in southwestern Knox County.
The truck was left running, and McColloch's two dogs were inside, but McColloch was nowhere to be found.
Those who attended Sunday wrote messages of love and hope on a flower boat before setting it afloat down the Wabash River.
"We created this event in an effort to bring awareness to Jared's case," said Reppond.
Reppond conveyed appreciation to all those involved for their assistance and support, including Deputy Carr from the Knox County Sheriff's Office, who is leading the case.
Many attendees, including Toni Flowers, have been actively distributing flyers and helping search for McColloch since November.
"I have three boys. I couldn't imagine being 800 miles away and one of them goes missing," said Flowers.
Flowers told WAKC News Now that she wants to encourage others in the community to come together and help bring Jared home.
"Get involved. Join the Finding Jared McColloch Facebook group, ask for some flyers, and give one to anybody and everybody."
