VINCENNES, Ind. (We Are Knox County) - Another road project is getting started in Vincennes.
Over the next few weeks, sections of Hart Street will be reduced to one lane to allow construction crews to build ADA-compliant sidewalk ramps.
City Engineer John Sprague told WAKC News Now that paving on Hart Street will begin "in the coming weeks."
Hart Street, from Richard Bauer Drive near Lincoln High School to 15th Street next to Hucks, will be repaved. Kimmell Road, from Hart Street to Ford Road next to Cantwell's, will also be repaved.
Last fall, the city of Vincennes was awarded 1 million dollars through INDOT’s Community Crossings Matching Grants Program to fund the project.
A completion date for the project has not been announced.
