Vincennes Man Dead Following Crash Near Monroe City

MONROE CITY, Ind. (We Are Knox County) - A single-vehicle crash near Monroe City has claimed the life of a Vincennes man.

The accident happened around 8:30 Friday evening in the area of Monroe School Road and Small Road.

When emergency responders arrived on the scene they discovered the driver, 20-year-old Keeton Walker of Vincennes, trapped inside the vehicle.

Walker's passenger, 20-year-old Dalton Kirby of Vincennes, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the Indiana State Police, Kirby was not wearing a seatbelt.

Walker was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital with serious injuries and later transferred to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.

The crash remains under investigation.
