Mark J. Newkirk

Mark J. Newkirk, 65, passed away at 4:43 pm on January 30, 2022 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Mark was born on November 28, 1956 in Vincennes and was the son Mary Newkirk Catt and Alvin Catt. Mark married Vickie Lucas on September 4, 1975.

Mark served his country in the United States Air Force and retired from Vincennes University as a Supervisor at the Vincennes University Physical plant. Mark attended New Life Assembly of God Church. Some of Marks enjoyments were woodworking, stained glass, motorcycles, fishing, running, aviation, and playing the guitar. Most importantly though Mark enjoyed being with his family and his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Vickie Newkirk; daughter, April Ellermann and her husband Jason of Vincennes, son, Greg Newkirk and his wife Christe of Washington, IN; his grandchildren, Grant, Nolan, and Nora Ellermann, and Elouise and Ava Newkirk; two aunts, Phyllis Newkirk of Knightstown, IN and Binnie Newkirk of Tennessee. Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Alvin.

The Newkirk family will hold private graveside services.
